Can you ask the vet? I am sure someone can chime in-or wait until he falls asleep and slowly move the legs to show it?
I will sneak a picture, but I'll ask the veterinarian on Monday if no one knows from the picture. Can you ask the vet? I am sure someone can chime in-or wait until he falls asleep and slowly move the legs to show it?
I am using the Provable because the IBD specialist prescribed it for Artie..I just found ti to be much less expensive at Chewy. I was using a different one, I forget the name, but the most common one around. The specialist said that contains animal protein. She said that it is unclear exactly what animal protein is; since Artie is allergic to chicken, that it is best to stay away from it. The Proviable does not contain animal protein.
I'm going to encourage you to consult with your veterinarian before trying another probiotic. Vets don't carry the most expensive brand just to make money off of it. You are holding success in your hand right now. Careful how you meddle with it. I know the stuff from the vet is expensive but if you consider in terms of what you've spent, financially and emotionally to get where you are with Mukkia it's a very small amount.
Do you mean fortiflora?

Supplements are sort of the wild and wooly west. Sometimes one may be exactly the same yet cheaper and sometimes as you state they contain a questionable ingredient.

LMBO!! I love your analogy! That's so true. Plus, you are right as well, Mukkia has never been given a diagnosis. I don't count the initial veterinarian's 'diagnosis'. So far his veterinarian has been very good to Mukkia's health, and I DO trust HIM! :-DSupplements are sort of the wild and wooly west. Right now Mukkia has food going in one end and poo out the other. A rather remarkable achievement considering the ups and downs of this case. I don't think Mukkia was ever handed a firm diagnosis or will ever know what set all this in motion
A quick call to the vet would be advisable before trying another probiotic.
Somewhere within the bowels of my hard drive is a funny little flow chart. It asks the most pertinent question at the beginning. Is it broken. If the answer is NO the arrow leads to a box that says Don't F$%^ with it. There is a lot of lost wisdom in that statement.
Veterinarians have become very skilled in finding a root cause of an illness. But it is as much science as it is art. My opinion is the second vet was treating the symptoms from an illness that had resolved itself and your cat was left sick from lack of nourishment. You think your cat would simply eat. One of the sweetest vets who helped with Kitten explained it very well. Cats are weird. Their bodies react different than other species. On TCS alone there are new threads daily. My cat won't eat. Cats seem to fall more in the exotic species than thought. Their health care needs to be specialized. May you have many more years with him.LMBO!! I love your analogy! That's so true. Thank you! :-) You may be correct about an illness that resolved itself. I am just feeling blessed that he has finally started to improve, and without any medicine. Now, all improvements are Mukkia, and God. We are both truly blessed. I cannot wait to see his handsome face looking healthy and full again! Yes!!!! It as Forti Flora..yup, animal digest ~~~ bad stuff
Do you mean fortiflora?
It's the animal digest that makes it usable in getting cats to eat if sprinkled on food.
The very same crap they coat garbage cheap food with so the cats can't resist it!
About the only thing fortiflora is really good for..........not a good probiotic despite it's popularity unfortunately.
So much to know! Sad that pet owners are fooled in to thinking we can trust the industries.
Thank you! I am too!
So happy to read that Mukkia is continuing to do well!
