Walked right into the vets office today ( a new one, not the one we have used for years for other pets) to check out the smell, cleanliness, etc, before I take the cats there. We had gotten some money, and told dh that we really needed to get Oreo some care (her tummy is getting big again, and she is yowling again in the night, where she had stopped for a couple weeks), and it is time to get merlin his shots.
So I walked right in, asked when I could get her in to get spayed, shots, etc, and they said I could bring her in tomorrow at 8 am! And to bring in Merlin at the same time for his check up, and then we will leave her there and pick her up in the afternoon.
I do have a worry. I asked "what if she is pregnant" and she said "that will be an extra charge"- so I guess that means that they will take the babies as well. I am having a real moral dillema here. I KNOW we cannot afford or desire her to have another litter so soon- AND the possiblity is slim since she has come to our house (she has been in the house over a month now, and outside only 4 times for about 30 min tops each time since July 2). So, morally, is it the SAME as ending a pregnancy for a human? I know I am probably opening a HUGE HUGE can of worms by asking this question. I am asking for YOUR OPINION and PLEASE don't respond to others opinions, I just want to be fully informed before tomorrow. I guess I just need to wait until tomorrow and make the decision, but knowing that the d-wormer worked somewhat a couple weeks ago, I am hoping the worms are BACK! rofl!
So, today we bought 2 collars for the cats, a carrier at petco that came with a lambswool blanket, and some more litter (it is on sale for $9.99, with a $1 off coupon ON the bucket!). I figure the best place for Oreo to be for the next few days will be in the carrier to recoup since that durn baby still thinks he needs to nurse! Maybe this will break him! He will NOT be happy! Neither will she, though- any other Post- Op Tips before I bring her home?
Thanks EVERYONE! I appreciate all your input!
