I've been feeding a stray kitty for a couple of months now. He really loves wet food . He/she has a huge appetite. I put out two 5.5 oz cans of Friskies Pate and he licks the dish clean and sometimes eats a bit of kibble. Is it normal for a cat to have such a big appetite? He looks pretty healthy. There's no way I can touch him much less take him to the vet or anything . He's very skittish.

Stray and feral cats often seem to have a bigger appetite than pet cats do. I think it comes from a mix of using up more energy to stay safe (and keep warm in the colder months), and being less certain of food being available, so they make the most of it when its there. It's also very possible that he has worms, which will make him hungrier than a healthy cat.

Thank you for looking after this boy. I'm sure he appreciates it :)
