My apologies for any typos, been researching on my phone for a while!
Ira is a 7 and a half year old DSH. Pretty healthy his whole life. Had a few very short bouts of anorexia that he overcame by hand feeding.
This January Ira had a urinary blockage. He "told" us immediately and within 4 days he returned home with a new lease on life and a new diet. 90 percent urinary so wet, little bit of dry.
Monday we found ourselves back at the vet because he was just himself. He's lost 30 percent of his body weight, and his bilirubin levels are elevated. Vet is unsure of whether it's gallbladder disease, cancer, ibd, fatty liver and a handful of other things.
We've had him home since Monday night, I began forcefeeeing a/d Tuesday. He will eat nothing on his own. He has a mittfull of meds. He has had two or three very watery, yellowy poops.
I think I'm driving myself crazy over analyzing his every move and symptom, but after spending a bunch of money, I still don't really have any solid answers.
Anyone have a cat who has had any of those illnesses that I could pick their brain on symptoms, recovery, diagnosing etc?
His brother passed a couple years ago with somewhat similar circumstances and points that make this very scary. :-(
Thanks in advance.
