That's the answer I got when I took my guys to a cat specialist a few years ago. She said the same thing. FF and Friskies aren't as bad as they are made out to be. She told me she would be more happy having my cats on all FF than having any kibble. Unfortunately I couldn't get my cats to agree to that so they still get some kibble.Originally Posted by mytoys2u

I know that people will slam my vet, but he said that Fancy Feast actually get a bit of a bad rap. It is not absolutely the best thing to feed, but it really isn't that bad of a choice if your cats like it. Next choice he said is Friskies which he said has gotten better over the years. He is a board certified cat specialist and has great credentials:
IMO, and you'll have to ask Sharky about this for verification, I believe chicken meal is okay, given that cats would eat bones and organs and such in the wild, but it's MEAT byproducts that you want to stay away from, since they include such things as roadkill, euthanized animals, and other things.Originally Posted by KuntryKitty
I, personally, don't like the Friskies. The main 3 brands I have chosen (Natural Life, Nutro, and Meow Mix) don't have wheat gluten or meat/chicken by-products, whereas Friskies does. I'm sure it's just fine though, and I'll be feeding Zoey some maybe 2-3 times a month, since she does get a variety. I am pleased with what I have locally here, and the variety she can get. Thank-you everybody!
I think I now have her meal and nutrition schedule finally worked out! She gets Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Kitten for dry, always available. She gets about 1.5 oz of wet in the morning and evening. Her main brands are Natural Choice, Nutro, and Meow Mix. She also gets some Iams, Fancy Feast, Special Kitty and Friskies.
I would order online and have a higher quality food delivered to my doorOriginally Posted by KuntryKitty

Just kind of started to wonder, if you had these choices, what you would choose, based on nutrition and feline favorable aspects.[/font]

none of the above...mine get Ca. Natural, Innova, Felidae, Chicken Soup, Wellness, and EVO. I don't shop for pet food at Wal Mart, it's gross. Chicken Soup is not that expensive, and much better quality.
Meow Mix wet food and Friskies wet are OK, but Meow Mix dry is one of the worst foods on the market :/. I'd recommend getting a better-quality dry if you don't want to feed all wet food.I use meow wet food and dry and sometimes friskies wet.my kitty is 7 months and she loves all but the pattae.I read the ingrediants in meow and I think its better than alot of other food. She is healthy and 6.5 pounds. The vet said she is healthy and perfect condition.I guess as long as there is no grain or corn, carrots it is good.so can is better, less carbs if you dont want a fat animal and cats are carnivors. And need moisture too in wet.
