Cat got two very red looking bold spots on his face.
What could it be? Nothing good, I presume.

He is less than a year old, I don't think he has any dental problems as of yet. The sores are on his forehead.Originally Posted by KTLynn
It's a possibility that these are abscesses forming, and you're right, that's not good.
Sometimes abscesses occur on the face because of extremely bad dental problems.
If this were my cat, I'd get him to the vet immediately.
Good luck - I hope he'll be ok.
I had just taken him to the vet. That's when the vet said it's a bite wound.Originally Posted by hissy
if you put your hand over the area without touching the spots, or the hair or the skin and you feel heat rising up get your cat to the vet PRONTO. Just because you don't see your cats fighting, does not mean they don't have spats and altercations. If it is a bite wound and it is getting ready to abscess, it gets nasty quickly and needs to be taken care of by a qualified person
No, I took him. But it wasn't my regular vet, and I am not sure this one did a good job. She just looked at the lesions, she didn't shine any light on it (what if it's ringworm?), but she just said it looked like a bite wound. She didn't give me anything to put on the wound, but she gave me the tablets to give to him (antibiotic). Should I put anything on the wound? Is it o'key to put neosporin on a cat?Originally Posted by hissy
Ahh okay then...Good job- I thought you had just called the vet on the phone- sorry about that
