Hello,
I haven't written here for a while. I have had my Siamese girl for nearly 12mths, she is just over 2yrs old (indoor cat) Now I love her to death, I do but my OH is very 'over her' and can't deal with her anymore. I can understand totally but I love her and seem to have alot more patience.
She is a lovely girl, but very picky who she will associate with, most of the time when my family visit she hides in my wardrobe. She is a constant meower. Now I know, I know she is SIAMESE but this isn't general chatter. This is walking around the house oddly, yowling. Sitting in odd spots meowing at nothing in particular, I feed & play with her, but she doesn't stop unless she's tired, usually 7.30pm. Sometimes I've often thought my unit has a ghost that she is meowing at! That's how bad it is
I have been trying to train her i.e when she is too noisy, pick her up and put her in the wardrobe, then let her out after a couple of mins when she is quiet. Telling her 'good girl' when she is quiet.
It's winter here now and I am not sure if the weather has anything to do with it or if its the training, but she has since stopped coming to bed. She always slept on our bed and snuggled in. Now she is sleeping on the couch and starts meowing at about 3-4am. This is something she's never done before. She'll come to my door, meow then I'll yell out and she'll stop. I actually feel sad that she stopped coming to bed.
I really don't know what to do about it anymore and I don't want to get rid of her, but my OH does. She does stress both of us out ALOT. I feel confused by her.
Do cat behaviourists exist? Is this my answer. Feliway diffuser makes no difference, trying to train seemed to make her worse. I'm lost!
