My cats have an outdoor enclosed cat pen. Yesterday when I got them in, I noticed one of my cats has been salivating excessively and is licking his lips. Any ideas what could have caused this?
He is eating and drinking normally. I've checked his mouth and everything looks normal. He is bright and alert, no fever, and quite chipper. I'm wondering if he could have eaten some sort of bug, caterpillar or lizard?
Or could he have eaten a weed? There are small weeds that grow in the pen. I pull them when I can but haven't gotten to it this week.
