First I want to say that I have cystic acne. I have had it for about 5 years now give or take. I didn't know what it was until I was diagnosed about it. I have tried EVERYTHING! I also realized that even though I went tanning once a week it was never more apparent when I got my last tattoo in New Orleans. My other tattoos look poopy now compared to my beautiful new Tattoo! lol
I had a 12% Salicylic acid peel before I went to New Orleans. She took care of a cyst that was already dead but scarring. Cyst usually leave a bruise scar on my face for about 6-12 months. I do have other scars from cysts I have tried to pop/drain. Bad move. It left pot marks on my skin.
I loved the results of the 12% and I stuck by a skin care routine that was given to me by the spa girl. Shocking, every product she recommened was something they didn't sell. It was very cheap to buy online. One was a glycolic acid cleanser, and retinol cream. It was why I saw her again. She wasn't out for money.
I decided I was ready for another peel. She went with a 25% peel. I will admit it was painful. But if you saw the tattoo I got in New Orleans, I knew I could handle it. Think of getting sun burnt and how that feels. Owie.
Pictures: The first picture is of before the peel.
Before with makeup you can see the cyst growing on the lower right side of the lip. This was a double header at least that's what she called it. I am sorry I don't take very good "self photo's of myself".

Now the day after the peel, it's kind of gross but I am not in pain I promise.

Then the peel happened. I peeled real good for one week, lots of skin came off (including some freckles..lol) the second week was almost like my skin was peeling again but just the top layer. It was weird. My skin was back to "normal" by the third week with the exception of some redness. No biggie.
After the peel:
Daylight notice the cyst this is what is would have looked like 6-9 months from now. I am wearing little makeup in pic. On my way to work that day.

My hair out of my face..lol

I post this because it was the best decision I made for myself. I know sometimes people are scared of such things so I wanted to share my experience. Just check out who you are going to. I plan on getting at least 3 more done over the next year. Along with some microdermabrasion (sp?).
I hope this helps anyone who has ever wondered. The cost for the peel on me was 80 dollars. So it wasn't that expensive. I have spent more on shoes. Know what I mean?
Oh and in case you are wondering...
My new tattoo.
It's on my left side torso from a little over the bra strap line to my hip. This was the best cropping I could have done without showing you things..lol
