I just ruined my cat's beloved hooded/enclosed bed in our washing machine.  It's not the first bed I've ruined in this manner.  I know some of them say "hand wash only" but that just doesn't seem like enough, especially after he entered it with a dirty litter box paw.  Any suggestions?  It's hard to find enclosed beds with removable covers.  He likes to stretch out in them so the larger is better.  This particular one came from PetSmart and he's had another from there as well as those box shaped ones from Walmart.  What about the Armarkat beds?  Any suggestions?

This is the style he likes from PetSmart: http://www.petsmart.com/cat/beds-bl...6-catid-200009?var_id=36-5539&_t=pfm=category

This one didn't hold up to the washer too well either(lost it's shape due to foam moving) and was a bit too enclosed: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3261+1883+25712&pcatid=25712

The Neko napper pet house is considerably pricey at $65 but it looks to be high quality and states it is machine washable. It may work for your cat.

Another cheaper alternative that I recently did was buy a few catty stacks they are about $13 dollars each. They are heavy duty card board boxes with cut outs for the cats to pass through. I then bought some foam and sewed a towel to fit the foam but I left open one of the sides so I can toss the towel in the wash without the foam. Of course then I put the DIY cat bed in the catty stack and my cat has liked it a lot.
