Emily hates Cupcake

Hi
My cat Emily hates my foster Cupcake. When I open the door to let cupcake out, Emily charges in. She does not really attack CC but CC does get afraid. Someone suggested that each time Emily does that, I put her in the bathroom for a time out. Would that really work.

How long have you had the two of them?

Overall, cats don't respond well to discipline. While putting Emily in the bathroom will end the immediate problem of her intimidating Cupcake, it won't do anything towards helping her accept the newcomer. If Cupcake is only going to be there a short time, it might be worth it to just keep the two of them apart, but if she's likely to be there for a bit, it would definitely be worthwhile to do full introductions.
