Hi folks!
Got sent over here from my betta forum.
Well, lets see. I'm 20 (well. for another... 9 weeks or so), a painter of houses and businesses (inside and outside), and a nerd/geek/whatever you want to call it. (Video games, randomly searching wildlife and nature facts and random information ect.)
Braden is my other half, he's 26, just as geeky as I am, and a sweetheart. He gets to sell alcohol. tis his job.
Oh, I'm Jenn by the way. Or Hey You... that also tends to work.
And now, the interesting stuff... THE MENAGERIE!!!
In order of appearance:
Tiberius - almost 19 year old rose hair tarantula that I've had for almost 17 years.
Tyrus - almost 11 year old rose hair tarantula that I've had for almost 9 years.
Altair - almost 1.5 year old bearded dragon that I got when he was but 8 weeks old... oh how he's grown. And loves his giant tank of awesome. Also loves to snuggle up and sleep on you.
Floyd - apprx. 1.5 year old short(ish) hair male cat. He's fixed, and was from the shelter about a year or so ago. He is greyish black and white. He's also not very cuddly or playful except by himself. We call him our emo cat. He's got this thing about spinning around on the office chair. LOVES IT. as well as playing catch with himself. (throwing the toy up, then jumping to grab it.)
Poi - unknown age, orangeish male veiltail betta (who will be going to my mother for christmas as she really wants a couple of my fish) .. I've had him since about march of this year. He's really timid!
Uda - unknown age, black and blue female plakat betta. Had her since about march of this year. fiesty as all get out! She sees you and DEMANDS attention through her tank (which stays in Altairs cage, they watch each other)
Mikro - apprx. 6 mos standard grey chinchilla male. He's adorable. I got him at 8 weeks old on July 1st (was 8 or 10 weeks) from a local small scale breeder. I will be getting him a cagemate sometime in the new year from the same girl I got him from once she gets a male white. His hobbies include bounding around his 4' tall cage at breakneck speeds and getting scratched under the chin
Lit - unknown age, yellowish cellophane male veiltail betta (again will be going to my mother) ... I've had him since July ish.
Twitch - unknown age, 2'' fancy tail (?) goldfish, calico colored. He's kinda twitchy (hence the name) but sweet.
Dart - unknown age, 2'' fancy tail (?) goldfish, WAS orange with black tips, but now he's just orange.
Eko - unknown age, cellophane female plakat betta. She was a rescue from a pet store. Was sitting back of the shelf in about 1'' of dirty, cloudy water. She was half dead. After marching up to the fish department and demanding a water change, I also demanded to walk out of there with her, and NO I would not pay for her. (she was seriously that close to dead.) She's now a healthy, happy little fish. A little timid, but curious about everything.
'Unnamed Kitten' - We got her yesterday from a family who found her starving and half frozen in the snow about 6 weeks ago. They waited about 3-4 days before taking her in, when it became apparent that no one was claiming her (they already had 2 dogs, 2 cats, a toddler and a ferret. no room for another cat) So after feeding her up, they started looking for a home for her, and well, here we are. It was love at first meow. She is a longhaired tortiecolored kitten, and we won't know the age until her vet visit. We're estimating somewhere between 4-9 mos, maybe just under a year if she was stunted from being starved. She has a kink in the end of her tail where it seems it might have been broken (you can't see it, only feel) and her eyes are so far both yellow with a ring of green. she's spunky and only took about 5 minutes of Floyds growling before giving him heck for it. Really hoping they start getting along soon. There's no way to separate them so we're doing the best we can with supervison and scent exchanging.
And thats the pets.
2 spiders, 6 fish, 1 lizard, 1 chinchilla, 2 cats.
2 cages (spiders are in a divided cage), 6 tanks (5 ten gallons and my lizards custom 5x2x2) and a whole lotta kitty toys and litterboxes.
