Hello everybody. Has anyone tried this flea amp ? want reviews from actual users before I try it. It is prodcued by Vibrac.

Thank you !

Contains Fipronil, for the treatment of flea and tick infestations.

Administration

External use only. Administer by topical application to the skin 1 pipette of 0.5ml per animal. Hold the pipette upright. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure the contents are within the main body of the pipette. Break the snap-off top of the spot-on pipette along the scored line. Part the pet's coat until its skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly against the bared skin and squeeze gently in one spot. Repeat this procedure at one or two different points along the cats back until the the tube is empty, preferably from the base of the head to between the shoulders. It is important to make sure the Effipro is applied to an area were the pet cannot lick it off, and to make sure that animals do not lick each other following treatment. Care should be taken to avoid excessive wetting of the hair with the Effipro since this will cause a sticky appearance of hairs at the treatment spot. However should this occur, it will disappear within 24hrs post application. White deposits may also be seen at the site for up to 48hrs after application.

The product has a persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 2 weeks against ticks. If ticks of some species (rhipicephalus sanguineus and ixodes ricinus) are present when the product is applied, all the ticks may not be killed within the first 48 hrs but they may be killed within a week.

I personally wouldn't risk it. I looked up fipronil - supposedly it was originally thought to only target invertebrates but proven later that it could be toxic to vertebrates. However Frontline Plus does contain it. You may want to consult your Athens vet is they'll take to you via phone.

It sounds like the same stuff as Frontline. Do you think it's just the Greek version? Does it say on the package who the manufacturer is?

Again, just give the Athens vet a call. They'll have had more business with cats and will know if there has been any issues with the flea treatment.
