I have a cat that I have seen licking the floor where there is litter that has been tracked on the floor right outside the litter box,, is there a reason why they do it and will it hurt him, he's about 1 1/2 yrs old, I have seen him do it a couple of times.

I don't know about a adult cat eating it. But i learned on here to never have clumping litter used around kittens because they will eat it and could kill them.

Maybe someone else will help with more details

I would take your cat into the vet and ask for a routine blood test to be done. Licking strange things like flooring, asphalt, bricks, concrete can be a sign of anemia or a nutritional imbalance. Better safe than sorry
