This is my first post, and I do tend to be verbose, so bear with me.
My 16 yo cat, Snicky has FHV-1 and has been on Enisyl-F L-lysine paste for about three years. He is not particularly fond of the "fish-candy" taste and won't lick it up on his own, so I found a relatively easy way to get the paste into him. I bought one of those long-handled baby spoons with the rubber coating (the human baby spoons) (ours is blue) and reasoned that the back of the spoon is about the same shape as the roof of Snicky's mouth! So I set him on the desk chair telling him to "sit pretty" (or "assume the position"!) and I stand next to him and pump the paste onto the BACK of the spoon. Using my right hand, I grab his head from the top and tilt it up slightly, then with the loaded spoon in my left hand, I use the tip of the spoon to gently press against the side of his lips, causing him to open his mouth. I quickly scrape off the paste onto the roof of his mouth and gently stroke his throat with the "spoon hand" while still holding his head with the other... all the while telling him what a good boy he is! Tah-dah! Dose of "Blue-spoon Candy" has just been administered! Piece o' cake! Hope this helps someone struggling to successfully get the paste into the catsuit.
