My cat had ear hematoma surgery on 9/05/2023 and hard a hard plastic E Collar, I changed it to a soft E Collar and she is having a hard time with both of them, has anyone removed the collar only after 2 or 3 days after surgery. I want to know if your cat was clawing at the stitches in the ear after removing the collar a few days later.

Hi, welcome! Every cat is different, so some might scratch at it, and some might not.

You could try leaving it off and see how she does, with supervision, and also you could try cutting an opening into the center of a paper plate and slip that over her head if she needs it.

What do you mean "hard time with them"? You can make eating and drinking easier by raising their bowls up. Invert something heavy/solid and put the bowl on top. The cone is for their own good. Even if you're with your cat MOST of the time, they can scratch whatever wound they have in an instant. I had a cat who had a cone on for MONTHS, but it was for his own good.
