At my uncle's job at the pet store, he tends to see a lot of dumped cats and kittens. Since he knew that I was looking for a new kitten since we put Mons to sleep recently (of course we could never replace the poor boy), he's been 'on alert' for me. Sure enough
, I got a phone call while at the carnival outside the mall. Before the conversation even ended, we were already heading back to the car to see the poor precious kitties.
There were two mother cats along with a huge family of kittens for each that were abandoned in two crates. They found the animals right when they were closing the doors. Someone must have just dropped them off. One family had a bunch of orange cats and brown tabbies and the other family had several white and a flame point. We picked the flame point boy since he met the criteria we were looking for (pointed, male, medium hair). The only problem is that he is a bit young. He appears to be 5-6 weeks. I'm thinking closer to 6 weeks since even though some kittens were nursing when we checked them out, he only ate the wet food at the house and not the formula. We are going to see if we can squeeze him in at the vet's tomorrow and if not, he'll go next week.
Edit: They will call one of the area rescues to pick up the rest.
