I have noticed that Rex is producing a lot of "dandruff" - this is just in the last several weeks... He was fine up until then. He has also chubbed up a little bit... and he seems... not sure... but seems to be drinking more water than normal.
He is approx. 3 years old.
They eat TOTW and a mix of wet foods. They get some supplements, including ProDen PlaqueOff. My first thought here was something thyroid related b/c of the trace iodine in the dentrifice. But then if he was HYPOthyroid... he would be behaving very differently - according to my research. (This product is contraindicated for hypothyroid cats.)
I tried squeezing some contents of a fish oil capsule into his food but he wouldn't touch it.
I have also noticed that Archie's skin is a bit more flaky, too. But not like Rex's.
And of course they are shedding like the dickens ... these two have the most plush coats.
Any ideas?
