Hi everyone,

My vet recommend me Hill's z/d cause my cat has bladder stone and (maybe) some IBD issue. But in the end her blood work all turn out normal, only the bladder stone. And I just want to triple check here if Hill's z/d can dissolve bladder stone? Even tho my vet said all the food they recommend will help, but I just want to be sure.

Thank you!

Depends on the kind of stone. If its a struvite stone, yes, diet can be used to help with dissolution. If is a calcium oxalate stone, special diets do not help with dissolution. A special diet can help prevent them from reoccurring. Our previous kitty had calcium oxalate stone. They had to be removed via surgery. She was on a special diet the rest of her life, with no reoccurance.
