Exactly. If a little kid saw that "bad word" in an encyclopedia, I doubt the parents would get their panties in a knot like some would over the sign. I don't see why people are making a big deal over this. It's just a word.Originally Posted by Leli

I agree. Although, since "Bitch" does mean female dog, I think that it would be fine.Originally Posted by Oscarsmommy
Well I think I am torn. On one hand, it is kind of offensive. I can understand why people would be upset. On the other, it is VERY creative and I applaud her for being so bold and brave by doing this. It is definately a hard decision on my part.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. It's very clever.
Excatly, it is what it is.Originally Posted by lionessrampant
Why not explain it to the 5 year old like it is? "Bitch" means female dog, plain and simple. If you look it up in Webster's there it is. Any further meaning of the word is vernacular and obviously not intended given the context it's used in.
That is my thought....Originally Posted by Leli

If your kids have questions, explain to them the difference between using a word in it's correct context versus a slang term. Like correctly using the word retarded meaning slowed versus using it as a put down or to describe someone who has developmental delays. As in "this morning's traffic retarded the funeral procession's progress".
