My son's cat had this growth on it's paw. He thinks it has gotten bigger over the last few months. He has a vet appt next week. I was thinking it may be mast cell.
I had a cat with Mast Cell tumors. They are small round hairless nodules that usually occur around the face, ears and neck. They can be surgically removed with no dire consequences as long as they stay "dermal". They can be fatal if internal.
To my eye, this did not look like the type my cat had (multiple times) on the face/neck. This lesion, while hairless, does not look like a raised smooth nodule. This looks sort of indented.
It is good that you have a Vet appointment to examine it and possibly biopsy it.
