Does the eukanuba and Iams helps it so that a domestic shorthair like Jake dosen't shed alot? I minimized his grooming to every three days because when thats when I get lots of hair out.

I don't think the grooming itself triggers the shedding. You can groom more often if you like. Most good cat foods will tell you that the overall condition of the cat will improve, including the shedding. I don't know if the shedding stuff is true, but I think it's always better to feed good quality food.
