Hi. Maybe some clearer pictures would be helpful. And some sort of description of what you think we are looking at, where - whatever it is - is located on the cat's body, how long it's been there, if it appears to be growing in size, is it bleeding or oozing anything.

Absolutely, it’s on her face, and been there for a couple months.
It keeps growing in size but not causing her any pain.
It’s not oozing or bleeding. The vet has no idea what it is but offered to remove for £1000

It could be a benign tumor, a cyst, a skin tag, or a whole host of other things. I think if I were you, I'd get a second opinion from another vet in a different practice (to avoid colleague bias). Perhaps another vet might suggest a skin scraping of the tissue for testing.
