What kind of animal would kill a rabbit and bury it? My DH found it in the back yard. There are no dogs around that we know of. There are woods behind our yard. I'm thinking possibly a fox. Do they bury their prey?
Thanks. Bobcats have been spotted close by before (a few years ago), but never this close to the house.Originally Posted by sk_pacer
Bobcat or lynx will cover the prey and come back later to eat.
Are you sure it works for bobcats?... There were several guys at a party over the weekend who "marked their territory" on a close-by tree.Originally Posted by sk_pacer
If you are worried about them being so close, have your DH mark the territory. Actually, even you can do it - collect urine in a pot and pour it around strategically. It works, I do it to keep the rats with antlers out of the yard and away from the electric fence to which they seem immune.
It's kind of a large area, so I know I'll have to buy the beer, but I think I will ask my DH and friends to help...Originally Posted by sk_pacer
You do need more than one marker spot unfortunately.
It kind of bothers me more that he buried his prey so close. I hope he's not too mad that its gone.Originally Posted by GailC
I thought too that it has to be a larger version of our housecats who could possibly do this.
Scary that one could be so close.
