Do wear a scent? A favorite perfume?
I have always worn some kind of perfume or cologne or something. Years and years ago (I was in my 20s), I wore White Musk and it became my trademark. One of my friends told me one time that he was at the grocery store and he smelled that scent and started looking for me, thinking I was close by. People smelled that and they thought of me right away. Well, you get tired of the old standbys and start looking for something new. I have yet to find anything that I like as much as I like that White Musk. It wasn't expensive by any standards, just a cheap drugstore scent. I started wearing different scents, some really expensive, some not so much. And nothing has tripped my trigger at all.
I pretty much gave it up earlier this year because what I liked Rick did not. And what he liked I did not. I had these neat vanilla-y scent that I just loved; Rick couldn't stand it and hated it when I wore it. I don't like heavy scents. I'm not a flowery type of person. And I don't like "Old Lady" scents (sorry, but that's what I call them). There's an older woman here at work who wears this certain perfume (Miracle by Lancome) and we swear she bathes in the stuff. I'll be walking over to the restroom and I know she's around somewhere; I can smell her....and it's not a good smell! My kids gave Miracle to me several years ago for Christmas and I really don't like the stuff. I'll wear it when I'm with them because I don't want hurt feelings, but I really don't like it.
Anyway, my brother and SIL were here on Saturday and before they left, she gave me a big hug. I sniffed her and I said, "You need to let Rick smell you!" And she gave me that look and said, "Are you serious?" I said, "I'm totally serious, Kath,...Rick needs to smell you!" So she walked into the living room and said, "Your wife says you're supposed to smell me!" So she gave Rick a hug. And he said, "You smell good; I like that scent. It's spicy and yet flowery. But more spicy." So she told me what she was wearing.
It's Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. My brother gave her some for Christmas in a 4-pack gift box. I love it, Rick likes it, and it's on my list. I hope it smells as good on me as it did on her!
