Backstory: when I was in high school, I contracted mononucleosis and it caused me to have hypothyroidism. I was told that there was a chance that over time, my thyroid function might improve some or even completely. Indeed, over time, my dose was lowered to almost nothing. During a visit to my home state back in January, I forgot my pills, and I felt the best I ever had. I continued my pills when I went back home, but they seemed to make me feel awful, so I lowered them to taking only one a week.
Maybe a month or so ago I stopped taking them completely. I no longer have depression, my skin is only dry after I get out of the shower (but its been that way for as long as I can remember and my dad is the same way with no thyroid issues) and my hair is growing out nicely. I don't think I am overly tired or sleeping too much, though my sleep schedule is screwed up. I've had back pain for at least a year, but it used to be lower and only affect me when I sat in a car, within the past few months, it has switched to middle back pain (basically where a bra would sit), in combination with terrible shortness of breath. I just had an 'attack' of sorts where I really felt like I was going to faint, it was really scary. Last time I went to the doctor, she said that my oxygen levels were fine, so what the heck is going on? Do you think I misjudged the functioning of my thyroid? Or do you think this is something else?
Help?
