Hi this is my first post to this site. Hopefully to the right forum. My 2 years old male cat has two shots of rabies vaccines over the past year. last week, he scratched me accidentally and there was a bit of blood. I didn't make it a big deal since I thought my cat has vaccines already and that scar is from a scratch not biting (rabies in saliva right?). However some friends seriously recommended me to take rabies shots or vaccines myself. they told me a lot from their "personal experience" or "previous incidents" and said cat owners should be more careful (than dog owners) and take rabies shots as a prevention.
That concerns me a little. I checked the human rabies vaccination or shot from local. they are not cheap. so want to seek some help from your expertise, do you think I need to take any human rabies shot myself, just as a prevention (my cat does bite me sometime but no blood sometime)?
Thank you so much in advance!
