Disinfecting Cloth Furniture Safely?

We just got a used couch and bed and are interested in disinfecting them. I've heard lysol is bad but I can easily keep the cat away while they dry. Any natural alternatives?

One cup of hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of dishwashing liquid mixed in a spray bottle should work. Check the couch in a hidden place first to make sure the hydrogen peroxide won't hurt the colors. You just spray it on and let it dry, it is a natural disinfectant. I use a lot of Lysol on my beds, that is what it is made for. Just make sure it is dry before you put clean linens on.
