We haven't noticed a flea problem AT ALL, until earlier today John's grandpa was changing the air conditioner filter and was suddenly covered head to toe in fleas.
No idea how this happened because the animals are all on preventative, and we haven't found any fleas on them. But we want to get rid of the problem quickly.
I went and got a bag of diatomaceous earth from the garden store, but wanted to make sure it is safe to use. After I got it home and read on the bag, I was reading warnings such as "do not get on skin or clothing", "do not ingest", "wear a protective mask when using". With all of the animals in the house, and of course us people, is it safe to use this anyway? I can see not breathing it in because it's a dust but the "do not get on skin" part kinda bothers me.
Do you think it's safe to use down here in the basement with John and I and all of the animals? I won't use any in our bedroom (where the animals are most of the time), just out by the filter where the fleas jumped on him.
