Hi there,
I have two kittens (one is 7 1/2 months old, the other 6 1/2 months old). Yesterday, the older one of them had liquid diarrhea--twice (in the evening, she first did poops outside of the litter box, then liquid diarrhea inside near the side). The younger one (last night) had mostly normal-ish poops, but also a little wet.
This morning, the older one hasn't gone to the bathroom yet, but the younger one had liquid diarrhea.
Here's what's changed:
They've been totally fine, eating fancy feast kitten wet food with a little orijen dry cat and kitten mixed in (for over a month). About 5 days ago, I started mixing in a little cats in the kitchen chicken frick a zee with the fancy feast. Still fine. Two days ago, I added one little kernel of a treat (a freeze-dried chicken from pure bits).
Of course I thought it was the pure bits, but I eliminated that this morning and the younger one still had the liquid diarrhea. Also, both of them haven't eaten as much as they normally do (they normally lick their plates clean). Adding to the mix: the LOVE the pure bits snacks and when I added one each to their plates last night, they RACED over to eat it.
Since it's both of them, I suspect it's the food.
Aside from the diarrhea and being a little less active than normal, they seem fine.
So: should I go back to ground zero (meaning just fancy feast) and take it from there?
