My 8 year old Siamese, BJ, was diagnosed with gingivitis yesterday and he was given an injection of antibiotic. On Tuesday he'll receive another injection and on Thursday, his teeth will be cleaned and he may also have a tooth extracted.
In the meantime, it's painful for him to eat - his favorite dry food is out of the question and he simply won't touch canned / wet food. (All three of my cats refuse to eat canned / wet food.)
What can I feed him that won't hurt his poor little mouth? He's so darned fussy and I can't bear the thought of him being hungry. Also, is there anything I can do to relieve his discomfort until this miserable condition is cleared up?
