got the cat of my dreams in may, he was gotten out of a situation that wasnt good, which i didnt realize would be the case until i got to the breeders home. some of the kittens had signs of diarhea, but they all seem to be up and about,  happy to get out of the cage so i could hold them. no real major problems that i noted visually. got muggzy home and after eating and poo--ing, he seemed happy to sleep in my arms. he slept for the following 72 hrs almost doing the norms in between sleep. i could pick him up, walk around the house with him in my arms he would continue to sleep. we drank alot of h2o which i am told kittens do and didnt have loose stool. my daughter bugged me to take him to the vet befor i planned to so she could bring her cat to meet muggzy. long story short he had trichoplasmosos in his stool, highly contagious and can continue to make them very ill, all that was i 200.00 bill,, glad to get him on his way to being a happy fairly energetic kitten, 2wks later my daughter brings her cat over, and within 36 hrs he started acting shy and  vomited with some painful cries .. took him to the vet, ..exrays,  blood work and subque fluids, vet couldnt tell for sure if something was in the small intestines but if he continued to womit she wanted to due surgery on him in the am.. he was back to his old self  by that afternoon... he seemed tp b ok then i had alot going on and couldnt give him non stop attention, he stoped playing alltogether... called the vet friday explained everything and they said as long as he is eating drinking pooing he was ok.. again my daughter brings her cat over and hes acting worse, he beggs for wet food i give and he walks away. he was excessively drinking saturday eating dry food. now today, sunday hes not doig either.. his stock is a little blotted and  moopy, going off and sleeping. could it be possible theres something in his intestine or do u think it could be a depressive emotional thing please help.. i really cant afford to take him in for another 400.00 et call

It really sounds medical to me - either something in the intestine or a reoccurrance of the previous ilness . Some cats find meeting other cats to be extremely stressful. Even if they've been treated for an illness, the stress of introduction can relapse it.Either way, I strongly recommend he goes back to the vet - kittens can go downhill very quickly. You don't mention where you are, but a lot of places have options like 'care credit' to help pay for the trips to the vet - you may want to talk to your vet about it.

Good luck! I hope you find out what's wrong and get it fixed soon.

What a shame you bought a cat from a shady breeder, is she registered? (as breeders should be, unless you're dealing with a BYB) If so you may wish to report her to the governing body for selling sick kittens. 12 week old kittens shouldn't be in a cage either. Were you given a health guarantee? That's pretty standard.

Was the Tritrich treated? Or just tested for? He definitely needs a vet visit, I would also discourage your daughter from bringing her cat over, cats seldom enjoy 'play dates' unlike dogs.

ETA: just re-read and noticed its a cross breed not a pedigree, please don't support byb's go to a reputable breeder or adopt from a shelter/foster carer

THANK U FOR UR RESPONDS, YES AS I NOTED MUGGZY WAS  TESTED TREATED FOR THE TRICHOP . HE'S HAD ALL THE USSUAL TESTS AS WELL, I ST VS TO THE VET. THE 2ND VS. WAS DUE TO THE VOMITING. HE DID FINE THE FOLLOWING WEEK OR SO,  AFTER TREATMENT AND MY OBSERVATION .THEN AS I COULDNT SPEND AS MUCH TIME PLAYING HIM.   I WAS CONSUMED WITH  ISSUES OF LIFE, HE BEGIN TO SLEEP MOST  OF THE TIME. I REALIZED HOW DEPENDENT HE HAD BECOME UPON ME. MY DAUGHTER FREQUENTLY REMINDS ME OF THAT. EVERYONE KNOWS HOW SPOILED MUGGS IS AND HOW MUCH I LOVE AND DOTE ON HIM . THEY TELL ME HE,S OK I WORRY TO MUCH. I COULD GO ON AND ON, THE POINT IS PLEASE DONT THINK FOR 1 MILLI SECOND I WOULD WITHHOLD PROPER TREATMENT FROM A CAT I LOVE WITH ALL MY HEART.. IM SEEKING HELP HERE AND I AM GREATFUL FOR ANYONES RESPONDS, HOWEVER I HAVE SPENT 800.00 IN VET BILL THE LAS T 1 1/2,MOS .  THATS MORE THAN ANYONE SHOULD HAVE TO SPEND ON THEIR PET IN A YEARS TIME.  I LIVE IN MICHIGAN, I'VE HEARD OF THE CARE CREDIT DEAL, BU I THOUGHT IT WAS LIKE A CREDIT CARD TYPE THING, NOT ASSISTANCE WITH A PORTION OF THE BILLS. I SPENT 2 YRS SEARCHING FOR MUGGZY, RESEARCHED AND TALKED WITH MANY BREEDER'S. TRUTHFULLY, DUE TO THE ATTITUDE OF SOME OF THE BREEDERS AND THE PRICE THEY TACK ON THEIR KITTENS, THOSE "BREEDERS" ACTUALLY CREATE BACKYARD BREEDERS.  MANY OF THEM WANT TO GET INTO YOUR FINANCES . ITS COME TO THAT !!!!!. ONCE AGAIN I SPENT 2 YRS TRYING TO FIND A KITTEN I COULD AFFORD,. I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE THIS WOMEN HAD TONS OF EXPERIENCE WITH HIMALAYANS AND RAGDOLLS, I DONT RECALL SAYING HE WAS A PUREBRED CAT, AND SHE HAD BEEN A LICENCED BREEDER, I DIDNT KNOW THESE KITTENS WERE STRICKEN WITH THE TRICHOP ... I WOULDNT HAVE WALKED AWAY WITH  MUGGZY IN MY ARMS HAD I.. PLEASE I AM IN A TERRIBLE SITUATION, I FEEL BAD ENOUGH, IVE DONE, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO ALL I CAN FOR MRMUGGS.. HES STOLLEN MY HEART ////////

thank u so very much.. a warm message such as yours i  so comforting. i will check on the care credit.  is that some type of assistance with a portion of the care, or just like a credit card?? that's how i understood it.. anyway  i thought he was coming around.  in the mornngs he's the ussual muggzy, begg's for the wet food the minute my feet hit the floo;, i stumble around half asleep while he;s curling around both  of my legg's... it's quit a site, and i love that about him, then i get the cat food on the "clean" plate. the only way he'll eat it,  just for him to walk away , or beg for a different kind. he's very spoiled. i did him no favors by doing stupid things to create a finicky cat.  but he ws 1.4 lb's the first vet visit. with all the fur he has it was hard to tell he was that under weight, when i got him. so the vet tech said it wouldnt hurt to feed him wet cat food 2x/day till him picked up some muscle, . he will be going to the vet tommoro, enough is enough,, but the vet i've been taking him to is more about money than good care,, thats sad but true and as upset as i've been about muggs, i'm liable to get into it with her,, her vet tech's are great, but she's got a poor bedside manner.. so we will have to start all over with all that. the world of vet medc. has changed, so exspensive.. these outragious price to own a pet today only detours people from seeking the proper vet care their pets require.. i love muggzy ; i will do what ever i have to to get him well.. thank you for your support, much needed

AND THE PRICE THEY TACK ON THEIR KITTENS
You do get what you pay for by going through a reputable, registered breeder. I'm sure for your purchase price plus vet bills you could have gotten a fully vetted (neutered, vaccinated, microchipped) registered pedigree cat from a proper breeder, with a health guarantee.

Breeding is an extremely expensive hobby, there is no money to be made from breeding. Only those who cut corners, sell sick kittens and don't do thing correctly could make a living out of it.

1.4lbs at his first vet visit, how horridly underweight for a 12 week old kitten - though I suppose she sold him to you underage as well?

Care credit is like a credit card and from what I've read has high interest rates and fees if not paid off in time so I'd use caution before applying unless there is no other option.

Good luck with the new vet.

I  am confused, lol. Are you saying he is half Persian and half Ragdoll?  Don't know why a breeder would cross a Persian with a Ragdoll.

Breeders are not, out to get your money, lol, after the vet care and feeding, of the queen, the tom, and, the kittens, they make very little money, and most have full time jobs, the ones I know anyhow, lol.  The reason they ask a zillion questions, and you fill out a form, and a contract, is they are trying to make sure, the kitten has a very good home, and one will take good care of him/her.

Responsible  breeders, take very good care of the queen, the tom, and the kittens, and the kittens come with a health guarantee.

My kitten, MC, had HCM, and he passed. His breeder gave me 2 kittens, half his purchase price back, and when he passed, a few months ago, she offered me another kitten, free of charge, when I am ready.  This is a responsible breeder, she went above and beyond.

I would be looking at an internal medicine specialist, and I would tell your daughter, to keep her cat at home, until the kitten is all better, especially, since at this point in time, you really don't know what is wrong with him, what he has, may be contagious.

Care Credit, is a credit card, it has high interest and late fees, just as any credit card does. You can use it for your doctor, your eye doctor, and you can use it at your vets. Some vets take it, some will only take it for emergencies, and most emergency vets take it, you just have to ask, if they take it.

Yes, I understand where u r coming from, trust me i have researched many different breeders, breeds of cats i love (all), and now that i unfortunately had to go threw unbearable pain watching mugg's suffer, i was desperately reaching out to others for advice as well as taking him to the vet freq, .... Point being, if u get a cat from a terrible breeder, and u end up with a sick cat, it's going to cost u as much as it would to pay for a kitten with a health contract and all the necessary shot's test's ect.. in the end i found a wonderful country vet, the first time he looked at mugg's he knew it was FIP.. The first vet charged me 600.00 for a whole lot of pain and suffering for both of us.. Its a terrible disease.. I had a cat years ago that  had distemper, and although FIP effect's the body much  differently, the pain and suffering of watching a kitten u love as though he were your child, die day by day is very hard.. If breeder's like the lady i got him from were more respondsible, disease's like FIP<HCM PKD, could eventually be genetically eliminated threw  proper moral,s of breeder's.. Which most do.. and i totally get that breeders want to know that there kittens will be well cared for.  but think about what i said, the extensive almost investigation some of these breeders i have dealt with are rediculous , they  advirtise their kitten's , you email them and they call u back or email u back to tell you all the kittens are committed to return customers, etc, etc,etc... after they have your information and usually a phone conversation, if u say one thing to make them think u can not take care of the kitten, then forget it, , they tell u the kittens are all spoken for.. now these breeders i spoke with here around michigan do very well, im sure knowing the price of vet care they dont make alot of money, but there has to be some kind of pay of for putting up with female cats  in heat and males,,,, that alone has to be very diff,,,  .. all the little kittens running around is fun ,but several at a time has to be a job in its self to see there safe etc.. so their in lies the back yard breeder's, who advt their kitten's on craig's list or ebay  cheap... that i now know is a bad sign right there.. Because muggzy was a cross breed Ragdoll/Himalayan, i dint think to much about the low cost 150.00,, i had several conversations with this breeder on the phone prior to me deciding , she sounded as though she had good scrouple's as far as breeding went. Now remember, this was the first cross purebred kitten  for me and i didnt know all the signs to look for and to tell  u the truth i went against my better judgement and once i saw the kittens that's all she wrote for me .  IAfter 2 yrs of searching i went for it. It wasnt the solution but  people who ,like myself, cant afford to pay 650.00- 1000.00 for a kitten, and have dreamed of having a beautiful kitten of your dreams decide to go the wrong route.. and i paid for it in every way imaginable.. I am trying to talk some sence into this women to clean up her act, but she is not receiving it. The end of the story is , Mrmuggs is no longer with me.. As u all know FIP is 100% fatal, treated at home. The vet i used said in his 36 yrs of practice he's never seen a cat live, dx with FIP>  I hope with the continued research, that this disease will be eliminated or testable and preventable:, but until all breeders take the "true" responsibility of not breeding sick cat's , diseases like FIP and all others will continue to destroy beautiful kittens and their owner's,. That includes Great breeders as well as Back Yard breeders.. Back yard breeders who dont care about the kittens live's should be punishable by law..
