Hello,
I'm probably fussing over nothing, but wanted hear from you guys:
My 18 month old female cat, Nora, went for her FVRCP vaccine on Tuesday at 1:30. She seemed totally fine for the next couple of hours and days afterwards. However yesterday she really didn't seem herself. She ate breakfast no problem, and we played for a bit as well. At around noon she seemed really sleepy - more so than usual. I kept my eye on her through out the day as she slept for the majority of the day. She normally begs for her evening walk (leashed walk), but she didn't last night. She also barely touched her dinner, just a few nibbles. This was very out of character for her as she loves her food! I tried again before I went to bed, with some cooked chicken. She ate a few pieces then left.
At around this time (11pm) we noticed she was slightly limping on the side she was injected. I know that sometimes the injection site can become sore - just odd that it's a little over 2 days after the injection.
This morning she didn't wake us up for breakfast, or hop on the bed to say good morning. She's also been very quiet, last night and this morning. She's normally very vocal! I gave her, her normal breakfast, which she ate half of. She's been to the bathroom, a little less than usual, but to be expected if she's not eating or drinking as much.
The FVRCP vaccine was a PureVax injection into her right shoulder. I'm calling the vet in an hour when they open to follow up, but was wondering if anyone has experienced a delayed reaction before?!
Thanks and I'll keep you updated - I don't work today thank goodness!
