I'm being attacked by a stubborn, powerfully willful tortie that won't take "I don't want to hold you right now" for an answer. I've been pinned into my chair by her royal highness and she is holding me hostage by laying in my lap, purring, and being cute. Might not make it out in time to do other stuff. If I don't come back, send the SWAT team.

... or maybe call out "dinnertime" to fool her into thinking its time to eat.

In my experience, it's always wise to keep a laser pointer within reach of your favorite chair. Along with a brush and claw clippers - prepared for anything!

I usually keep a laser toy in the drawer of the table next to the chair. I opened it, felt around, no laser. I began to sweat. I rummaged frantically. She said "looking...for this?" and dangled the toy then flung it out of reach xD
