I went on my daily walkabout to check on the ferals today and noticed a really bad smell coming from an adjacent apartment complex. I thought it might be a cat, so I investigated, but it looks to be a dead raccoon in the woods behind the complex.
(people must think I'm the crazy self-appointed animal guy)
It's not easy to get to - I was going to leave a note for the building superintenant. Or call Animal Control or the Department of Sanitation? (It's private property)
It's rotting a bit. Will the ferals stay away? Any obvious health hazards for them?
I'm not going to touch it... I've disposed of a dead squirrel in the past, but rotting raccoons are beyond my area of involvment.
