The main story is strange enough, but it also says they rejected a passport photo because a five-year-old's bare shoulders might offend Muslims.
Whaaaaat?
There are extremists in all religions, and many of them are easily offended by things most of us consider perfectly acceptable. But if we start calibrating societal mores to suit society's most extreme members, we'll quickly put ourselves back into the Dark Ages!
There's a mosque just down the way from our house, and when it was being built, there were several families in our neighborhood who tried to stop it on the grounds that it would lower our property values. So it goes both ways.
Why can't everybody just recognize the right of other people to be who they are?
