I've been watching the kittens try to get around these last few days and I noticed something. The 2nd one my cat had seems to be scooting fine (with his/her arms in front of him/her) the 1st cat, however, seems to be swimming (arms straight out to the side). Am I being overly cautious or should I be concerned? (they are only a week and 2 days old)

At this age, they are still learning to walk... just like human babies, they go about it in different ways. If they are eating well and Momcat is taking good care of them, I would not be worried.
Even if one of the kittens is disabled, such cats can often live full, healthy lives with a little extra care.
