It seems be be a better quality food than the others. ONE of the sites I posted earlier you can go to and put in for a cat and what condition and dry ro canned and get calories and phos levels.
Thank you, I will check that canned food out

I have not been posting on this thread but should have been.
Coco is very sick and may not have much time left.
She even had a blood transfusion on July 22nd.
Here is what has been going on.

Wow...she is a tough little kitty. I am so sorry she's not been doing well, you are certainly giving her the best possible care. Hugs.

Thanks
She is 18.5 years old and she is not my first cat with CRF.
I lost my Stripe to it at age 11 and Stormy to ARF at age 5.
Patches to ARF at age 6.
There is so much I know with Coco that I did not know with Stripe.

Here's hoping the epogen helps her. Rachel started her calcitriol, and pepcid and a new food yesterday.

I hope that helps her.
What food is she on.
Coco does not want to eat to much today.
The pepcid helps though.
Her bp will not come done no matter what we do.
She is on two bp meds and it still went up.

I won't have her new wet food until Saturday, but have her on Royal Canin Mature 27 for a dry. I'm noticing she howls some when she drinks from an on the floor bowl, but not with an elevated water bowl we have, so..nothing but elevated water bowls for her from now on.

My Missy never drank water so I added water to her canned food as well as cat sure or clinicare rf and blended it to a liquid and I would syringe it into her.

For nausea I gave her ondancetrom.

She would be with me now if whatever caused her to be in such pain did not happen!

Yoshi got his blood work, x ray and teeth cleaning. He has no nasal polyp and not even a loose tooth but he is in early stages of CRD. The vet made it more than clear that it was not failure but disease. I caught it early I guess. The vet put him on Hill's k/d wet and dry. Yoshi is 15 years old and the vet said he was at his life expectancy but I have had Yoshi since he was 13 days old and he still acts the same as he has for years so I have faith that he will be with me longer. Anyone else's cat been told they have CRD not CRF????

Nope, ask, if you didn't, for a copy of his labs, and then go to one of the sites in the top message for this thread, and read about those test results etc.

I would ask if it is a clinical diagnosis ... Ie CRF has 4 stages yet many vets call the first two insufficiancy not failure ... while others call all failure

Some of my crf kitties have liked Hi-Tor Neo - a lower protein, restricted phosphorous canned food. I would order it from petfooddirect.com.
