Thank you for the detailed descriptions. Another site I go on catster.com, has pictures of cats and some people have cats with the breed names above and I was getting confused, because sometimes I couldn't tell the difference. The eye color is very helpful.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
Russian Blues are silver blue shorthairs but very dense coats (should be able to draw lines in the coat and it stays). They have deep green eye color.
Korats are silver blue but the coat is very close laying. They have green eye color.
Chartreux are blue (no silver), dense coat but GOLD eye color.
A good example of the 3 breeds should NEVER look the same. If you put them side by side, its very obvious.
My guys are on Catster and are pedigreed Russian Blues. Many people there will label their cats "Russian Blue" simply because the cat is blue. Hell, I've even seen some "Russian Blue" cats on Catster who weren't even blue.Originally Posted by Serenity

Thanks again.
You just answered the question I, MYSELF< was going to ask! it is the Chartruex that is the cat body on Toothpick legs! LOL! When you put them together like that you can really see the difference.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
One other clue is "heard this from judges" - the chartruex looks like a barrel on skinny legs - the body is heavy compared to the legs. The RB's are more refined looking as are the korats. And RB's have wider ear set compared to the chartruex. But eye color is the dead give away.
