Hi all
Well, it's been 5 days since Cosette became part of the family. So far, so crazy! She is a nut!!!
I guess it's just her being a typical kitten, but she wants to play all of the time and likes to explore EVERYTHING! She's been staying in the bathroom vanity during the day when I'm gone and at night. If I'm home and she's stuck in the vanity room, she cries bloody murder until I let her out!
I've kept her and Eponine pretty much separated. Eponine got curious by Tuesday night and would sniff at the door to Cosette's room every time she cried. So, last night I decided I would start letting them be in the same room together under supervision. Well, Eponine is not Cosette's biggest fan, but at least she is not scared of her. When Cosette was running around the room, Eponine jumped up on the dresser, looked down at her, and just made growls and whining noises. I guess she was on the dresser to establish her rightful place as the alpha cat. Cosette basically ignored Eponine and continued to play with Bradley, me, and everything else in-between. We also let her get in bed with us and cuddle while we watched TV. She's not big on cuddling yet (not when there are so many new things to explore), but I have a feeling she will be a major lovey-dovey. So far, her favorite toys are the cat dancer and Bradley's shoes!
So that's what she's been up to so far. She's eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. She is also almost TOO good at using her littler box if you know what I mean!
We figured out how to get her on a good sleeping schedule. I bought her a kitten cozy pad that you heat in the microwave for warmth. So I heat it up every night and each morning when I go to work. She is starting to learn that that's sleepy-bye time for kitty
If anyone's interested, I'll keep you all updated on her progress and I will have tons of pictures to post! Needless to say, I love that little kitten more than life itself already!!!!
