Hi my cat was given convenia injection on Jan 4th for a UTI by my regular vet, thankfully no side effects. After some research on the 7th I started her on Proviable probiotic so have been sprinkling one capsule on her food once a day. Just curious how long I should keep giving it. thnx

Convenia/probiotics

Convenia is a different sort of antibiotic which stays in the system for at least 45 days. I presume you are using the Proviable in case of diarrhea? I would say you could try stopping it and see what happens. If lose stool appears then restart it. Diarrhea is an uncommon side effect of Convenia, unlike other antibiotics, so hopefully you won't see any problem.

No actually I thought she would need a probiotic because of the Convenia in order to put back some probiotics- there has been no diarrhea
