I will love to keep a collar on Jack at all times--just in case he would slide out the door. However his collar makes his fur mat. Is there a way to avoid this?

Find a rolled leather collar. You will have to take the stiching out, and sew some elastic on it, to make it 'kitty proof' if you so desire (mine wear regular collars, and always have; I figure, what's the use of a collar if they lose it somewhere along the way; I have never had one strangle, or get caught up in anything either in over 20 years of owning cats... as long as it was adjusted properly...anyway personal preference, no flaming please!).Originally Posted by Jack31

We are in the SW corner of the state - you just missed the big St. Paul cat show this past weekend. Had lots of pedigrees and HHP's there competing. If you want to enter a show, the next local one (which is an ACFA one) is end of April in Hopkins.
The next CFA show (like St. Paul's) is next September. If you want specific info/flyer - pm me and I'll give you the website to download a flyer, etc.
