Coco might start Sub Q's this week and I am scared of doing them

Do you know how much the needles cost?
I know it wil not be as much as when stripe had Sub Q;s because I paid the Vet to do it back then. That was 1999 -2000 though.

I'm sure you'll do fine. I had to do this with Rebby and it actually is much easier than you think. But it is much easier if one person holds the cat and another person does the needle. Good Luck!

It's been ahwile since I purchased needles, but they are not expensive. A box of 100 was perhaps $15.

www.allivet.com is a good source for fluids and infusion sets. I'm surprised they don't carry boxes of needles...if you do decide to order your stuff, I would call them and see if they have needles. The size I used for fluids was 3/4" x 20 gauge.

Another good source would be your local vet supply store. Fluids should not cost more than $10 a bag--$5-$7 is pretty standard from a supply store. I did not buy my fluids from my vet, as they charge in the $15 range, IIRC.
