We've had people ask to leave their thread open a bit longer, but at some point it will get closed. This policy has come about after years of the site running. It is something that we revisit occasionally, but the overwhelming feeling is that it is still better to close them. In many cases a person does not read through a whole thread and we have had quite a few instances in the past of people posting after a cat has passed away, offering treatment suggestions or being very critical of the treatment the cat is getting. A member that is in grief over their cat really doesn't need that and their have been a lot of hurt feelings because of it in the past.
If you don't agree with our policy, please do contact @Anne the site owner. She welcomes all feedback about the site.
