Just wanted to update you guys on Clancy, the orange/white guy who showed up in my feral colony last week.
Clancy has turned out to be such a sweet, gentle guy! He's a still a bit overwhelmed by the events of the past few days, but seems to know he's in good hands.
Clancy does have a grade 2 or 3 heart murmur. While this is a concern, it's not the end of the world. As some of you know, my own litter mates, Pete and Claire, both have grade 2 murmurs and have been diagnosed with HCM, but are doing just fine with daily meds. Fortunately, Clancy came through his neuter today just fine and is resting comfortably. The next step will be to get him the rescue's regular vet for an evaluation and possibly a cardiac ultrasound to see what we're dealing.
I'm just so relieved that Clancy's safe and will get the care that he needs. We're optimistic that with his good lucks and loving personality that he'll still be very adoptable even as a special needs cat.
Will post an update when I know more. Thanks again!
