I've never eaten "real" chili, it was either beans alone (in other mexican food) or meat (and sometimes tomatoes) along with the spice mix.
I loved that as a kid though it was way more spicy than I could handle, but really yummy, especially with pasta

Before I haven't tried it together I probably will stay with "no preference"

By definition it isn't chili without beans.
Chili con Carne is chili with meat.

If you take away the beans, it's just sauce.

That said, I hate kidney beans, and make my chili with pintos instead, although, I've had some killer black bean chilis.

Beans, beans, and more beans.

And hot sauce, extra fresh cracked pepper, and, top it off with onions.

And then some shredded cheddar.

And a big fat cold beer to warsh it down with!

Ooooh better with beans. Especially if you are vegetarian - excellent source of protein! Plus, it thickens it up a bit and makes it tasty!

But it depends on what you are using the chilli in - if it's a pasta dish I would leave out the beans, but for tacos or something beans for sure!

I'v always been told that there are no beans in authentic chili, but I've never made chili without beans. I prefer pinto, although I have used red beans before. And I gotta have lots of meat, preferably ground buffalo or venison.

No one's forcing you, hun. Chili is a very forgiving dish. Put in or leave out what you choose.

I make my chili with NO beans.

Try sleeping next to my hubby after eating beans!!

You would leave them out too!

I don't like beans in chili anyway and I add macaroni.
It's very good with that seasoning mix that comes in the little brown bag.
Shelby something or other I think.
