awww bless his heart. i'm sure he'll be back to normal soon
Yeah I'm with you on that one. Chicken pox, although uncomfortable and itchy at the time was a small price to pay for real immunity. I got chicken pox at age 8 and had mumps, and whooping cough at the time. Ouch! Well I've been exposed to chicken pox many many times since then and never got a 2nd round. Where all the people I know of in my age bracket who were vaccinated got it more than once in their life time. That's a lot of people. Two of them were actually hospitalized when they got shingles as an adult. I've also been exposed to shingles several times, and haven't got them yet.Originally Posted by Fred&Nermal

Don't be embarassed. I've had impitago twice. Once as a kid and once in university as an adult. It's one of those 'dirty' infections, though I certainly wasn't dirty.
It's wierd, now that I'm out of school I never pick up any of those wierd catchy illnesses that I used to.
Here's the other thing. Why exactly are they giving vacines for chickenpox? In the 70s when I had chickenpox all the neighbourhood moms sent there kids over to be with me so that they would get it and get it over with. It was actually desirable to have had it, so you wouldn't suffer with it as an adult. I also never remember anyone having to go to the hospitable with it or coming close to death (only death by itchiness).
Sounds a bit like the flu shot hype. I've never had a flu shot and haven't had the flu in eons. My parents always get the shot and have the flu at least once a year, if not twice. Same goes for other friends who have had it.
Maybe some one with kids here knows more about chicken pox today and why they vacinate for it?
Well please don't feel bad....its a contact thing.Originally Posted by Dixie_Darlin

They gave us a pyrethrin based cream to apply from head to toe. No one else in the house has it (thank god) and they said they think we caught it early enough to where we shouldn't either.
It's so embarrassing!
I just told people he has a rash... I thought only "dirty people" or people who had poor hygiene caught them.
I have washed EVERYTHING in thier room today.. and Lysoled it also.
