causes of cat's tummy bulge after giving birth?

hello everyone,

my cat have just gave birth to four kittens but her tummy is still bloated ? i want to know why and is it dangerous please help!

Are you sure she is finished having kittens. Maybe there is another one.

Also, they are usually more or less swollen inside at least a couple of days.

It is common our forumites arent sure if she is done, or maybe one is left - because of such a bloating.

IF she has someone still inside - pauses may occur.  The receipt is, if mom is calm, happy, no visible difficulties - observe, but its OK so far.

If she is in visible difficulties, or your gut feeling tells you something is wrong, contact your vet asap.

That said, it is good you ARE observant, as complications and infections does occur.  Not very common, but they can occur. More then once only a quick ride to the vet saved the mom.
