my kitties are still being introduced. they are at the screen and it's cracked so they can touch each other. there is zero hissing, but they are pawing at each other quite strongly. What does this mean? Aggression or play?

Do they seem to be mad? Usually you can tell by the looks on their faces, if their fur is standing up, etc.

I have not thought to look for that, but I will.
they are fine to see each other and act calm when no paws are involved, but when the paws are visible and touchable through the door they paw at each other. (The resident cat may be mad????, the new kitten just wants to be friends.---is my guess)
