hi i have an 8 week old white persian kitten..i was wondering if its alright to keep her in the balcony during the nights?or is it possible that she may jump from the railing?

She may try to jump, or she might fall.this is a common cause of death among cats. the safest place for her is inside with you.

Night time seems to be when they learn their new jumping skills, I wouldn't risk it.

She will definately try jumping down at some point. You can make your balcony into a safe place for her by turning it into an enclosure. You can get chicken wire or similar at any home depot or hardware store. Don't know where your located, but you should be able to find something. An enclosure can actually be a nice thing for you both to enjoy.
